Representative Betty Price was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in a special election in July of 2015 to represent House district 48, which includes the largest portion of Roswell and some of Alpharetta.
Representative Betty Price graduated with honors from Cocoa Beach High School in Florida, where her father, former flight instructor with the RCAF in WW II, and a NASA subcontractor at the Kennedy Space Center. She earned her B.A. from Pomona College in Claremont, California and received a scholarship to McGill University in Montreal, where later was conferred her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
Dr. Price furthered her specialty training with an internship and residency in Anesthesiology at the Emory University Affiliated Hospitals in Atlanta and took care of patients at Emory Hospital, Grady Hospital, Egleston Children’s Hospital, and Crawford Long Hospital.
Rep. Betty Price, M.D. worked for over 20 years in the medical field and practiced Anesthesiology in Roswell and Marietta. She served on the Boards of both the Medical Association of Georgia and the Medical Association of Atlanta, where she chaired the legislative committee. She is a past president of the American Medical Women’s Association in Atlanta. She received the President’s Award from the Medical Association of Atlanta.
Representative Price is an active member of the Roswell community, having served on Roswell’s Design Review Board and over 5 years on the Roswell City Council and as Mayor Pro Tem of Roswell. Rep. Price has also served on the boards of numerous non-profits in North Fulton, and 10 years on the Fulton County Board of Health.
Representative Betty Price has also led several organizations in Washington, D.C. during her recent time as a congressional spouse. Back home, Betty was honored to receive a Phenomenal Women of North Fulton award.
Rep. Betty Price met her future husband Tom Price, a fellow physician, at Grady Hospital. She and Tom, the former 6th district Congressman and immediate past HHS Secretary in the 2017 federal administration, married and moved to Roswell to live and to work at North Fulton Regional Hospital (now part of Wellstar) in 1984. Together the Prices have one adult son who is an electrical engineer/musician. Tom and Betty will celebrate 35 years of faithful marriage in August of 2018.
Betty is an active member of the Roswell Woman’s Club and the Roswell Rotary Club. She was awarded a lifetime membership in the Roswell Junior Woman’s Club. She is involved with the Georgia Ensemble Theatre, the Roswell Historical Society and its cemetery restoration efforts, the Chattahoochee Nature Center, Friends of Bulloch Hall, the Child Development Association, the Drake House transitional housing, Roswell Inc., and the North Fulton Poverty Task Force.
Since finishing out the unexpired term of the late Representative Harry Geisinger, Rep. Price was re-elected to her first full term in 2016. In 2017 Rep. Betty Price was tapped as a Deputy Whip for the GOP caucus, elected Secretary of the Fulton County Delegation, and serves on the following committees in the Georgia House of Representatives:

The 2018 Georgia General Assembly runs from January 8-March 29. During this time, Representative Price is happy to provide recognitions and commendations, discuss specific legislation, and talk with you about other concerns and issues, and state related constituent service. After the legislative session finishes, at “sine die”, she is back full time in the north Fulton community and ready to be of service however she is needed.
